This pamphlet draws on articles published over a period of 40 years in the newspaper Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! It provides a communist perspective on the political and historical background to the genocidal onslaught by the Israeli state. It locates contemporary events in the context of the continuing Zionist occupation of Palestine and the role played by British imperialism in establishing this outpost of imperialism, necessarily as a racist colonial-settler state.
It shows how British support, with the unswerving complicity of the imperialist Labour Party, has been crucial to the survival of the Israeli state, how it has acted to undermine the Palestinian national liberation struggle and cover up for Israeli war crimes.
Finally, it argues that the best solidarity internationalists and anti-imperialists can give to the Palestinian people is to build a working class movement on the streets that forces the British state to impose political, economic, diplomatic and cultural sanctions on the Zionist state and enforce its complete isolation.
