Join us for a screening of The Battle of Algiers on the 30th June at 7pm at the Bee’s Mouth! We will have a bake sale at the film showing.

The Battle of Algiers (1966) is widely recognised as one of the greatest political films of all time, charting the history of Algeria’s national liberation struggle from 1954 through to independence from French colonial rule in 1962. Initially banned in France, Gillo Pontecorvo’s film – the first produced by an independent Algeria – has offered inspiration to those challenging racism, imperialism and occupation ever since including the Black Panthers, the Irish Republican Army and the struggle in Palestine.
