Smash the Bedroom Tax!
Solidarity Protest at Bedroom Tax Tribunal
Wednesday 1 October – 11:30am
Outside Manorview House,
Kings Manor,
Newcastle-upon-Tyne
NE1 6PA
Nearest metro station: Manors
We have been handing out appeal packs and supporting people to appeal against the bedroom tax since its implementation. Bedroom tax appeals have gone to tribunal across the country and many of the cases have won, overturning bedroom tax decisions.
Now many of those appeals are going to tribunal in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The more people go to tribunal, the more unworkable the bedroom tax becomes for local councils; increasing the pressure locally and nationally to drop the hated ‘under-occupancy charge’ (bedroom tax). Our aim is to overturn the bedroom tax for all claimants.
Over the next two months three women from Newcastle’s East End are going to Tribunal against the bedroom tax. Please come and support them by joining the solidarity protests outside their Tribunal hearings.
UPCOMING TRIBUNAL PROTESTS:
Wednesday 1st October 11.30am
Monday 3rd November 11.30am
Location: Manorview House, Kings Manor, NE1 6PA (next of MANORS Metro station)
APPEALS & FIGHTING TRIBUNALS
If you have received a letter and enquiry form titled ‘About your HOUSING BENEFIT appeal’ from the HM Courts & Tribunals Service asking whether you wish to go ahead with your appeal — contact us, we can help you with the form and process.
We advise everyone to go to tribunal, it will cost you nothing and we can campaign together to fight every appeal!
You are not alone, we will not be forced into starvation anymore. We demand decent housing for all.
Together we are stronger! Fight every benefit cut!
