FRFI republishes below a statement from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine on the US military aggression against Venezuela on 3 January 2026.
The Popular Front Condemns the U.S. Imperialist Aggression Against Venezuela and Affirms: “Washington’s Thuggery Will Not Break the Will of Free Peoples”
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine strongly condemns the brutal US imperialist aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, manifested in air raids and missile strikes targeting the capital, Caracas, as well as vital civilian and military facilities and residential complexes. The Front considers this aggression a new chapter in the organised American terrorism waged against sovereign states.
The Front expresses its complete and unconditional solidarity with Venezuela—its leadership, government, and people—headed by the militant President Nicolás Maduro, and stresses that Venezuela, which has consistently stood by the causes of the oppressed, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, is today paying the price for its principled positions rejecting hegemony and colonialism.
This American attack on Venezuela is, in its essence and objectives, akin to the brutal Zionist aggression against our Palestinian people; the criminal is the same, and the colonial mindset seeking to break the will of resistance is one and the same.
The US administration’s pretexts of “combating smuggling” or “protecting democracy” are nothing but a false cover for imperialist piracy aimed explicitly at plundering the wealth of the Venezuelan people and confiscating their independent political decision. This thuggery practiced by Washington in the Caribbean constitutes organised state terrorism, unrestrained and in flagrant violation of all international charters, norms, and human values.
We affirm the inherent and inalienable right of the Venezuelan people to resist in all its forms and to defend their existence and national sovereignty, and we emphasise that the cohesion of the internal front is the most effective response to attempts at intimidation and airspace violations.
We call on all free and progressive forces in Latin America and around the world to formulate a unified international stance to confront this aggression that threatens global stability and peace, affirming that imperialist arrogance will inevitably be shattered by the awareness and courage of peoples committed to their freedom.
We warn that the continued descent of the United States into this military madness will ignite new flashpoints of conflict around the world; the aggression against Venezuela is an assault on every state that upholds its independent national decision.
The Front renews its absolute confidence that Venezuela—“Bolívar, Chávez, and Maduro”—will emerge from this ordeal stronger and more resilient, and that the forces of imperialism, no matter how much killing technology they possess, will remain incapable of achieving their colonial objectives or breaking the will of peoples.
