The Revolutionary Communist Group – for an anti-imperialist movement in Britain

Prosecution concludes and Sarah takes the stand

Trial #2, Day #2

Today (Tuesday 15 September) the British state’s second attempt to convict our comrade Sarah on a spurious terrorism charge continued with the prosecution concluding its evidence. The officer in charge of the case was cross-examined by the defence, and Sarah began giving her evidence. The case will continue on Wednesday afternoon.

Outside the court, the SOAS 2 Defence Campaign and RCG/FRFI were joined by supporters of Women of Colour in the Global Women’s Strike, Focus E15 housing campaign, Young Struggle and the Anti-Imperialist Front. We stood united in the face of sustained police harassment and the eventual serving of a Public Order Act section 14 notice – first to prevent us using amplified sound and eventually also prohibiting the use of drums and musical instruments. However, our chants remained loud and our protest both visible and audible! During the afternoon we held an informative teach-in on the history of the Palestinian Resistance.

Join us tomorrow at the Old Bailey from 1.30pm to continue to support Sarah and defend our right to defend Palestine!
